About the Gender Identity Center
This center is a clinical facility dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment, research, and education for gender-related disorders (GAD), with a focus on gender incongruence (GI).Gender incongruence is defined as a condition in which the gender assigned based on biological sex does not align with the gender the individual identifies with.At 슬롯 사이트 Hospital, a multidisciplinary team comprising the Departments of Neuropsychiatry, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology collaborates to provide care.To date, our center has developed the world’s first combined flap penile reconstruction surgery, which considers both cosmetic and functional aspects, and has introduced minimally invasive treatments such as laparoscopic-assisted plastOur global partners include Ghent University in Belgium, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Dong-A University in South Korea, and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

·First, please ask your primary care physician to write a referral letter, and have your healthcare provider fax the appointment request to our hospital.·At a later date, a representative from our hospital will contact you with instructions on how to schedule your initial consultation. *For International PatientsInternational patients residing overseas who wish to receive medical care at our hospital should first review this information.To provide safe and reliable medical care to patients residing overseas, we ask that you contact us through a medical coordination company or the National University Hospital International Medical Collaboration Network.Regarding acceptance, our physicians will make a comprehensive determination—including whether treatment would be beneficial for the patient—after reviewing previous treatment records and interpreting imaging data.We appreciate your understanding and cooperation to ensure a smooth consultation and treatment process. Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: I would like to undergo physical treatments (mastectomy, hormone therapy, SRS)... A: To begin mastectomy or hormone therapy, you must first receive a definitive diagnosis and approval for physical treatment from our Gender Clinic. A definitive diagnosis and approval for physical treatment involve a comprehensive evaluation—including life history, psychological testing, and physical examinations (height, weight, current medical history, past medical history, and blood tests (androgens, estrogens), mastectomy, and gender-affirming surgery. This decision is made by a panel consisting of two psychiatrists/neurologists, an obstetrician-gynecologist, a urologist, a plastic surgeon, a clinical psychologist, and external experts.Treatment often begins with hormone therapy, which is administered by urologists and obstetricians/gynecologists. Q: What kind of surgeries are included in gender-affirming surgery? A: MTF (physically male, gender identity female) ⇒ Orchiectomy, penectomy, vulvoplasty, vaginoplastyFTM (biologically female, gender identity male) ⇒ Hysterectomy and oophorectomy, urethral lengthening, penile reconstruction.Mastectomy is not considered gender confirmation surgery.Urethral lengthening is a necessary procedure for those seeking penile reconstruction.
